WE whose names are hereunder written, Justices of the Peace for the County of Cornwall (whereof one is of the Quorum) Do
consent the putting forth MARY HILL an Apprentice according to the
Intent and Meaning of this Indenture; and do sign this our allowance of
such Indenture of Apprenticeship before the same hath been executed by any of the other
parties thereto, in pursuance of the Statute in such case made and provided. Dated this
Third Day of June in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and
Twenty four

THIS INDENTURE made the Third Day of June in the
fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the fourth by the
Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King,
Defender of the Faith, and so forth, and in the year of our Lord 1824
Witnesseth, that EDMUND HAMBLY and NICHOLAS BRENT Churchwardens of the
Parish of Saint Dominick in the County of Cornwall And the said EDMUND
HAMBLY and RICHARD PIPER Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish by and
with the consent of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the said
County whose Names are hereunto subscribed, and by virtue and in
pursuance of an Order in Writing made by and under the Hands of JOHN
KENDALL FLETCHER, Doctor in Divinity and HENRY WOOLLCOMBE, Clerk
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County, in pursuance of the
Statute in that case made and provided, and bearing even date herewith,
have put and placed, and by these Presents do put and place MARY HILL
aged thirteen years or thereabouts, a poor Child of the said Parish of
Saint Dominick Apprentice to JOHN WORTH with him to dwell and serve from
the Day of the Date of these Presents, until the said Apprentice shall
come to the Age of twenty one years or until she shall marry, as shall
first happen, according to the Statute in that case made and provided:
During all which Term, the said Apprentice her said Master faithfully
shall serve in all lawful Businesses, according to her Power, Wit, and
Ability; and honestly, orderly, and obediently in all things demean and
behave herself towards her said Master and all his during the said Term,
And the said JOHN WORTH for himself, his Executors and Administrators,
doth covenant and grant to and with the said Churchwardens and
Overseers, and every of them, their and every of their Executors and
Administrators, and their and every of their Successors for the time
being, by these Presents, that he the said JOHN WORTH the said
Apprentice in House wifery shall and will teach and instruct, or cause
to be taught and instructed in the best way and manner that he can And
shall and will during all the Term aforesaid, find, provide, and allow
unto the said Apprentice meet, competent, and sufficient Meat, Drink,
Apparel, Lodging, Washing, and other things, necessary and fit for an
Apprentice (Provided always, that the said last mentioned Covenant on
the part of the said JOHN WORTH his Executors and Administrators, to be
done and performed, shall continue to be in force for no longer time
than Three Calendar Months next after the death of the said JOHN WORTH
in case he the said JOHN WORTH shall happen to die during the
continuance of such Apprenticeship, according to the provisions of an
Act passed in the Thirty-second Year of the Reign of King George the
Third, intituled, “An Act for the further regulation of Parish
Apprentices”) And also shall and will so provide for the said
Apprentice, that she be not any way a Charge to the said Parish of Saint
Dominick or Parishioners of the same; but of and from all charge shall
and will save the said parishioners harmless and indemnified during the
said term:
IN WITNESS whereof, the Parties abovesaid to these present Indentures
have set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written.
